I have a shoe problem. I'm working on it. Well not really, but I know it's out there. I had long ago set an eBay saved search for my Nine West shoes and when these white ones came up I clicked through the Buy It Now immediately and robotically, no thought involved. And, well, I love them just as dearly as I do my blue ones, which have definitely seen better days at this point. I saw that you clever readers perhaps did the same, spotting that 7.5 on eBay! Best of luck to those bidding.
Today also marks the debut of this totally crazy suede fringe jacket. I was going to sell it in my store, but now I'm thinking I might hold onto it for a while. The fringe even extends across the back and it's a little too much to take, in the best way possible. 80s product that it is, I had to do a little shoulder pad surgery but now I can whip people in the face with my tassels to my heart's desire. Only by accident, of course.
Less outerwear specifically, there's a change in plans for this week...sadly, my boyfriend has managed to tear a tendon in his knee while doing manly things and is gimpily crutching about as we speak (type?), which means that I'll be flying down to San Diego to help him on Friday and driving up to LA on Tuesday. There was definitely a lot of ticket re-negotiating but I think it's all figured out now. It was agreed upon that it might be hard to drag a suitcase around the airport with said crutches in use. Blogging, of course, will continue throughout! Well, when I'm not assisting Caldwell in every way I can, of course. And eating fish tacos and writhing about on the beach.
Meanwhile, IN PARIS WITHOUT ME, my mother is toying with the notion of purchasing a yellow Balenciaga. Interesting.
Note: to anyone that is bidding on auctions that end tomorrow night or has won anything this week, PLEASE make payment by tomorrow night if you want your item sent out on Friday. Otherwise I will do so a week later when I am back. And you know you want your awesome stuff sooner.
Note II: Dearest Catpower, I added a chain strap bag to the store like you requested! This one's pretty cute too.

The old debate

I've been hesitant to post these photos from Sunday, when I was trying to deal with the depressing task of taking my boyfriend to the airport and apparently dealing with it by dressing as obnoxiously as possible. I know that people are really sensitive in regards to the topic of fur and just want to make it clear that I would never buy a new fur coat that supported modern fur industries, but I do think that when it comes to vintage it's more of a gray area and you're kind of just using something that would lay around unused otherwise. So vintage fur is a yes for me but I know that people have all kinds of different viewpoints and explanations for them, which I completely respect.
Oh, and that's not my truck. I would be about 10,000 times cooler if it was.
And don't forget there's a ton of vintage auctions ending in my store tonight, including this most desirable of floral playsuits that I sort of wanted to keep.

Vintage galore!
Wow I've been hard at work, if I may say so myself. A good mix of girly and punky pieces this week, click here if you see anything you like! And the most amazing pair of must see thigh high boots if you're a size 7.

The pointless scarf

A favorite standby of mine. I was going to put this up for auction in my store, but it just fit me too perfectly to let go. I love the bright, almost ugly flowers on the black background. And I included a shot to showcase the ridiculously large nature of the bag.

I heart Levi's

Oops I'm behind a day...I actually photographed this for my store, but liked it so much I ran around in it till we went out for dinner.
Shirt, Urban Outfitters. Belt, vintage Banana Republic (I love finding old BR pieces from when it was a Mill Valley-based safari company...that banana logo is sweet). Shorts, vintage Levi's. Shoes, Kors Michael Kors (for the reader that asked, the style name is "Harlot"..seriously).

The eelskin clutch hath arrived
A few of you asked about the more glamorous sister of the cadet blue/grayish vintage eelskin clutch I debuted this weekend, well it has arrived in my store. This thing is beyond amazing in real life, sumptuously soft to the point of insanity, in mint condition, and quite expensive-looking also I might say (even lined in suede!). Click here to check out the auction...

Stud muffin

Studs can add life to the most staid of ensembles - they're one of the best ways to juxtapose, methinks. A quick search on eBay turned up some interesting options, the leather gloves winning the award for most fascinating. The gold metallic bag's Stam-like shape intrigued me, though it's definitely sort of an "ugly chic" piece that would have be worn carefully. If anything here strikes your fancy, just mix up the search terms "vintage", "studded, and "stud", should be pretty easy to sift through.
Tiger uppercut

Okay sorry, totally lame Street Fighter reference. Man I hated Sagat. Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of tiger motif/print pieces everywhere (or I just randomly started noticing them more), and conducted an eBay search for "vintage tiger" out of boredom (well in between trying to resuscitate my hangover stricken boyfriend) to see what there was to be found in the old global marketplace. I'm particularly enamored with the Michael Kors on crack swimsuit, quite lustworthy. I didn't really find the tiger face emblazoned oversized 80s Tshirt dress I was imagining, but I'm sure with some dedication and patience it could be done. Though I should probably work on procuring the vintage leopard print coat of my dreams first to fill the painful void in my closet, one animal-inspired piece at a time.

Saturday

More florals haha, I definitely feel like I need to get some new pieces to punch up my wardrobe...I honestly haven't made any significant purchases in what feels like forever. A thrift session accompanied by the boyfriend this morning turned up a couple gorgeous vintage oversized eelskin clutches in a cadet blue (will probably be posting one in the store), a cute hopefully high waisted black skirt with buttons, and the usual lot of fun dresses. But I'm feeling the need to make some unplanned expenditures, perhaps from Topshop if I can manage to find anything that isn't sold out...

Creamy lace heaven

Once in a while in my travels, I come across a truly breathtaking vintage piece that actually makes my heart start pounding harder. I saw all the potential in this one when I picked it up, but I think the fit even exceeded those expectations. I think I would actually describe those sleeves as glorious and mean it. Alas, I can't keep every vintage gem I find..my puny closet that my boyfriend has already sacrificed most of for me doth overflow. Up for auction on eBay right now, ending on Wednesday.

Liberty print-ish dresses

Foiled! I was so excited to find these dresses I posted about but alas they are both too big for me. I realized I must have been kidding myself on Saturday when I wore the blue one because the tiniest bit of clipping at the waist rendered it 6700 times cuter. Up for grabs on eBay for whoever wants them, the blue is a S/M and the pink is a M/L (and has the coolest tie closure open back). Sigh. And I'm pretty sure that my boyfriend's aunt cut my bangs too short last week.
