It’s only just barely visible that the wind was whipping my hair around for the majority of this little adventure. All good fun running around in the weeds though.

My photographer(/boyfriend) has returned! Well he did and just left again. Long-distance relationships are the spawn of the devil. Anyway, here I cavorted about in a deserted decrepit location, which rank relatively high on my list of favorite photo shoot spots. But it’s gross because turkeys live here. I hate turkeys. For full disclosure, I have included a photo of them openly threatening my life.

French Connection is always a little bewildering to me. I mean there was a certain point when all of a sudden they had a couple covetable items, which happened to coincide with last year’s messily creative collagey advertising campaign. Maybe marketing just works that well on me, as I ended up purchasing a white silk sequined tunic dress that was pretty overpriced for the quality (sequins now hang by mere single threads) but I suppose I still love it anyway. I’m thinking it’s going to be paired with my fringey bag sometime soon for an ethereal hippie tribute. This dress seems to have redesigned this year and is now available in a potentially completely rad chartreuse.
I find myself once again drawn to one of their pieces this year (maybe this is strictly an annual occurence?), in the form of this “Mayhem Coat”. That huge bow and ridiculous amounts of volume are making my heart flutter. I like the bare legs and heels, and it would be sweet paired with a little white lace or red floral dress, I am thinking. Too bad I refuse to pay that much for what is essentially a glamorized canvas coat. Sigh.
It feels a little redundant posting Facehunter pics since I’m sure everyone’s already seen them but I’m so in love with these two recent girls’ looks that I had to share, just in case Yvan isn’t on your daily roster.
I suppose there are many ways that this could have gone “wrong” but it all works so perfectly together, especially with those striped mittens and that mildly impish gaze. There is almost too much to comment here, from the alive-looking rosette skirt (and I thought I was over rosettes!) and sheer tights to the repeated navy/black combo and carefree fringe boots. Inspired.
I love the palette and the mood here. The dusty blue, red, and black are tempered perfectly by the taupe. I’m feeling an almost intimidating, moody Snejana-ish vibe from her and it’s kind of awesome. Oh, and cool boots. Do those shorts look like suede to anyone else?
