Lyte Accessories headband, vintage vest and blazer dress, Bakers boots.
Molly Rhymer of Lyte Accessories must have picked up on my headband fetish, luckily for me. She sent me a couple gorgeous pieces, both of which I’ve been wearing nonstop along with my Bakers boots that arrived this week. I honestly feel like a void in my life was filled, which is pretty sick. I walked two miles in them last night, which I suppose was brave given how new they are, but they’re as comfortable as four and a half inchers are going to get.
Erin x RVCA leather top, Levi’s, Korcula necklace, vintage chain necklace worn as a bracelet.
It’s about a thousand degrees again, the air is seriously suffocating me but at least it gives me a chance to wear this top before it actually transitions into fall. If it ever actually transitions into fall.
I wrote an article for Vogue Girl Korea on RVCA and my experiences in New York that a reader emailed me they had seen so hopefully I’ll get a copy to share with you guys – my first official published work! Aside from a random photograph I took that Jane published when I was in high school. I used to be really into photography but I guess Colin’s picked up the slack for me there. I thought I was so cool with my dad’s 35mm Nikon from the ’70s. Maybe I’ll post some later if I can remember the password to my ancient Photobucket account. Subject matter largely consisted of the ground, people’s backs in Tokyo, and recycling bins. I’m pretty sure I thought I was really intense.
Michelle Williams of Quail was sweet enough to send me some pieces from her vintage-inspired line, which manages to be romantic without crossing over to saccharine. As soon as I touched this jacket I knew it was very me, the best thing about it being the gigantic knit hood that I of course failed to photograph in action. Next time.
A few people have asked about the comfort factor with the Emma Cook boots – all I have to say is chunky semi-shock absorbent rubbery sole is heaven even on 5 inches. Shoe designers take note. Kirsty made the interesting observation that they look sorta like flat boots from the front, which is weirdly true, though perhaps more so on her black version.
Stoked on the vlog reaching 20,000 views, you guys are amazing. We’ll try to get another one going if we can convince Colin’s dad that he needs to edit it.
Vintage jacket, American Apparel dress, Bebe heels.
Today was weirdly cold and I took full advantage by breaking out the Mongolian faux fur. I love outerwear that makes me feel like a crazy person. I’ve been gathering a few things that fall neatly into this category, including a fringed plaid cape – three near don’ts that should probably never meet. I’m just as scared of it as I am gleeful over it.
