Today was..depressing. Watching 3 straight hours of The Tudors, nachos, snuggling with the kittens (oh Kumo isn’t possessed..he’s just Persian), and listening to complaint rock somehow only made me feel 1% better. Ugh.

So it’s as good a time as any to post these trashy-in-black wasteland photos my boyfriend took earlier this week. The American Apparel lamé dress is everything I wanted it to be, I’m going to try it belted and it looks ferosh as a skirt too. Actually worn like that it looks just like that Topshop faux-leather flare skirt that was such a big fuss a few months ago. I’m too lazy to write the items directly on the photos, but most everything is vintage except the American Apparel dress and bodysuit. Well and Chloe shoes. And Forever 21 headband. K. Pizza box. Delirious.

Pullover and boots, vintage. Shorts, vintage Levi’s. Jewelry; vintage, Target, Iwona Ludyga, Forever 21.

I love finding completely inexplicable garments like this pullover jacket thing. Removable one-sided vest? Mmmk. Huge hood? YES YES YES. But seriously, huge weird slouchy things like this work perfectly to offset all my tiny skirts, shorts, and skinny pants. I’ve noticed that I’m slowly making more use of all the athletic-inspired clothing in my wardrobe, from my Forever 21 sneaker heels to the American Apparel bodysuit to the shiny RVCA gym shorts that I’ve been living in. Gymnasium chic?

A few of you have asked what nail polish this is, it’s one of the 4 I keep in rotation for when I do my own nails – OPI’s Chihuahua Bites with some China Glaze sheer pink that I never used mixed in. The others (all OPI) – Lincoln Park in the Dark, Got the Blues for Red, and Light my Sapphire. While I’m on this, does anyone have a good basecoat recommendation? I have this sneaking suspicion that the one I’m using really sucks.

My boyfriend’s grandmother has this huge sprawling ranch right on the Mexican border that was just begging for some vintage to be shot there. Casually strewn about in one corner is everything from old mailboxes and mattresses to dusty spice jars and once-loved bits of children’s playgrounds. All that’s audible there is the sound of horses trotting and whinnying and roosters crying, which combined with the murkily overcast, humid day created a rather surreal environment. We normally try to avoid taking photos on cloudy days since it can be difficult, but I think the way these came out suits the environment pretty well. Look for some sweet jumpsuits and hot body con dresses in store this week.

Cutoff T, Fruit of the Loom. Skirt, Forever 21. Cape and jacket, vintage. Heels, Nine West. Bag, Anna Corinna. Gray raglan, American Apparel.

Due to unforeseen circumstances (okay, an impromptu decision to stay in a hotel), I ended up wearing this Forever 21 skirt for about 48 hours straight, but managed to make do with the random accessories in my car. For some odd reason I’ve had this vintage red cape in my trunk for about a month now, and I finally got a chance to wear it for a cold-ish San Francisco night. The only thing it’s missing is a huge hood to make it undeniably Little Red Riding Hood.

Being so busy working on the new unveiling of the store has left me zero time for blogging, even though I have so much to post. My inability to quench my sick internet obsessions and blogging desires have left me feeling perpetually twitchy and anxious. Scary, huh. But I finally got around to working on the photos I mentioned a couple posts ago. My boyfriend and I ventured north with a car full of clothes and shoes and got to work. Probably not the average way to spend your Sunday, but we have so much fun taking these that the time just flew by until all of a sudden we were dying of thirst and decided to go jump in my pool before the sunset.

I’ve marked most of the items but if I missed anything feel free to ask. The black lace dress is a little big for me in the hips so it’ll be for sale as soon as things are back up and running on eBay. You can’t quite tell in the photos here but it has the sickest bustier and open back. So good. Anyway, hope you enjoy..don’t forget to click to enlarge!
