I am the luckiest girl in the world – my friends over at RVCA sent me over a bunch of pieces from Erin Wasson’s line. Nothing has ever felt more like Christmas, including Christmas. My kittens observed blandly as I gleefully removed items from the box. Each piece has the details and cuts that distinguish a basic from something special – a blazer with a lightning bolt printed back and exposed zipper, a long loose tank with a barely there back, a tuxedo jacket that looks cropped in the front but with dramatically extended tails, a jeweled jersey bustier, white leather motorcycle vest, the perfect knit high waisted skirt with gold studs down the front..ahh too many amazing pieces to describe accurately. Her inspiration from the beaches of California to New York City’s street style shines through, and all I can say is that I’m going to be living in this stuff. A huge thank you to Erin, Josh, and Kristen, and another thank you to my friend Akshay who filled in as photographer today for my jetsetting boyfriend.
The line drops Spring 2009 so get ready. You’re going to be seeing all of the other pieces here in the near future.

What I get when I combine a few of my current favorites. I tend to get wardrobe-stupid and forget that I own all the crap that I do, leaning on a few key pieces to get me through (sequin butterfly top, probably not going to make it). This is when I decide to reorganize or spend an hour trying on clothes dancing around to Rihanna and M.I.A. like a fool.
This outfit is from this past weekend, I’ve gotten behind in posts as usual, which isn’t aided by the fact that my boyfriend/photographer is in ROME right now for work. Yes, Rome the city. Wtf? A thousand questions arise, but mostly why am I not there with him/why couldn’t I muster $1500 last minute? And since when is he cool enough to travel to Europe for work (sorry, Caldwell, love youuu)? Oh well, apparently the humidity is at 100%, the salads suck, and everything’s closed in August or something. So I guess it’s alright, especially since I just gave in and pre-ordered an iPhone and I will apparently be spending all my money on phone bills now. My fifth grade memories (pigeons, piazzas, stracciatella gelato, pervy men) of the city will have to do. Tomorrow I am enlisting the help of my dear friend Akshay to take pictures. He has no idea what he’s in for.
I went to a new yoga class tonight, and the teacher was the most graceful sinewy being I have ever witnessed to exist. He moved like a crazy panther, which I found weirdly awe-inspiring. New goal in life: move like crazy panther.
Also, I just killed a fly with a single swipe of a pen. I am a ninja. Must disinfect pen now.
I found this completely awful 90s clubbing/possible strip club survivor secondhand, and something triggered. I wanted it. I wanted to at least attempt to master it. It is a sick thing to want a butterfly-shaped backless crop top, but hey, can’t fight the instinct. I will also note here that I had to take scissors to the lining to remove some substantial bust-enhancing cups. But not before trying it on with them still in and giggling at the sight of me with boobs. Looked weird.
I suspect that I might be the only one to kind of like the thing, but it was definitely fun to wear. I always like the shiny shinies.
Sweatshirt, American Apparel. Top, Kain. Shorts, vintage Levi’s. Boots and cuffs, vintage. Necklace, Forever 21. Bag, Givenchy.
Woohoo, lots of good stuff in the store. I get a lot of questions about international shipping, so I just want to clarify that I definitely do ship internationally..in fact it seems more than half of my customers are international. From a slouch fit crested Ralph Lauren blazer and Topshop exposed zip bandage mini I ordered that was too big for me to the perfect motorcycle jacket and gorgeous sequined jacket..something for everyone.
