ViVi magazine took me to the new Topshop in Shinjuku to style a look to shoot in store…I had about 15 minutes to go through the racks and pick something out. Ended up going with the chunky sweater, pony skirt, and red suede platform sandals, though that nude sequin tunic was tempting too. I used the dressing rooms set aside for their personal shopping service, so cute! With chocolates, Evian, huge rooms, and a gridded rack on the wall to be able to get a better look at your options, you couldn’t really ask for much more. Sort of wondering how hard it would be to dedicate a wall or two of my own to this floor-to-ceiling display idea. Might save a few things from being perpetually draped on the couch.
vanity affair
obscure rock song lyrics
(Zara coat, vintage velvet shirt, Levi’s shorts, Topshop boots, Mulberry bag)
A mix of new and old basics and a teddy bear-ish coat with a scrap of a hood I salvaged from an old jacket for an afternoon in Soho dropping by the Michael Angel studio and lunch at the Mercer Kitchen..I’m back at my parent’s house in San Francisco relaxing for the holiday weekend..happy Thanksgiving!
dressed up in the afternoon, soho
(Lanvin for H&M dress, Topshop boots)
I have no idea how I managed to fit this dress in my suitcase when I packed it yesterday afternoon to come home to California. Unbelted, it juts out actual feet from the body in a way that makes you sort of pat yourself absentmindedly (I might mean creepily). I ended up getting three pieces from the collection after the show on Thursday night and figured it was worth freezing in it for ten minutes or so outside the Soho Grand since I have no idea when I’ll actually deem it appropriate to wear it again. I’m no Carrie Bradshaw sitting forlornly on a hotel bed in Paris or anything. But definitely a fun dress to wear, apparently at any hour of the day..I especially love the mousy color and nude neckline and general princess-ness going on.
mango in madrid
Hi from Madrid – I got here yesterday and am excited to go to the Mango fashion show tonight. And actually dress for legitimate winter weather! Plan for right now – el Museo del Prado and shopping.
picnic at griffith park
(Isosceles necklace, LF lace top, vintage Levi’s shorts, Topshop boots and jacket)
We became fixated upon the idea of a picnic around 2 o’clock this day, and by the time a comforter had been sourced at Target (apparently picnic blankets are seasonal even in California and had just stopped being stocked..of course) and we’d ransacked Trader Joe’s and 7-11 for seaweed, orange juice, champagne, trail mix, and nachos for the males, the sun was verging on non-existent. I grabbed my Topshop coat from the car after a while and we hung out for a couple hours and just talked. And wore our new headgear. Scored this wolf hood for $25 at some random store on Hollywood Blvd. while shopping for Halloween costumes – worth every penny for its ability to balance out freezing in a completely sheer top.
