(Isabel Marant shirt and belt, LF ribbed shirt, Ksubi shorts, Barbara Bui boots)
Buffalo check is usually best relegated to camping gear catalogs (looks excellent on scratchy blankets) but is occasionally successfully feminized..Isabel Marant’s version is shrunken, collarless, and can be left open-ish via ideally sparse button placement. Plus Isabeli Fontana kinda sold me on the idea looking all perfect wearing the same one in the latest Vogue in an oddly inspiring athletic themed editorial. Brazilian models are very useful when it comes to that sort of brainwashing. I layered it here with a simple black long-sleeved shirt cause it was windy and on the verge of not even being appropriate to have opted for shorts.
Let me know what you think about the site redesign! Still working out some kinks but everything should be much neater..and the search function is back along with archiving that makes sense. The goal is simple and clean so hopefully that was achieved.
(House of Harlow Chelsea sunglasses, Forever 21 shirt and skirt, Prada platform sandals, Marco Tagliaferri bag)
Obsessed with my new cat eyes on roids. I rarely buy sunglasses because I feel like I’ve already amassed a near perfect collection of wearable, classic styles mixed in with a couple more whimsical pairs, but these are the perfect updated cat eye and are just barely not over the edge. Summer staple #1.
I will never part with this shirt..details tomorrow.
(vintage faux fur coat and tshirt, BCBGeneration wide legged trousers, Prada heels)
I got to meet up with the beautiful Joyce Azria, otherwise known as the creative director of BCBGeneration, last week. How much I love all of Max Azria’s brands translated into almost dying of nervousness on the way to the BCBG headquarters (when I wasn’t distracted by getting lost and ending up at a “cutting and fusing facility” oops) but that melted away when Joyce turned out to be the most likeable person, ever. We talked sheer things, marching band hats, and egg-shaped thrones, I got a tour of a good part of the massive building, we spied on Lubov in a meeting, and she sent me off with some fun pieces to play with. These beautiful trousers included. I’m obsessed with this exaggerated wide leg right now and the slits on the legs are the perfect extra detail to make them special. Ended up with sort of an updated ’60s groupie look here, shot at the daisy-covered but freezing Lafayette Park in San Francisco.
(LF dress and knit, gifted David Yurman Wheaton ring, Marco Tagliaferri bag)
Sunday night at Barnes & Noble with the boyfriend = sloppy knit, smushy bag, and Vogue
I’m working with David Yurman on a project for their beautiful Valentine’s Day collection: here are the details!
Fans of David Yurman can enter the contest by uploading their favorite original romantic picture to the David Yurman Facebook page and then encouraging their friends to vote for their picture — the top 10 with the most votes will be the final contenders from which David Yurman will pick the winner. The winner will receive two pieces of jewelry (for them and their loved one) just in time for Valentine’s Day (and the men’s pieces are sooo goood). Trust me you want to win this one. I mean David Yurman is David Yurman…so get creative with shooting a romantic photo..good luck!
