Wearing a headpiece that Mr. Kate sent me last week and having some fun at the Soho Grand. Fashion week has been crazy so far..right now waiting for the Derek Lam show to start at Lincoln Center and trying to figure out what Leighton Meester is wearing. And since I suck at staying on top of posting when I’m traveling, see what I’m doing sooner on Twitter here.

The fact that this thing looks exactly like the blanket stashed in my car for spontaneous picnics and bonfires makes it feel like I’ve already owned it forever. Though this version 2.0 deal might be a little more flattering to drape all over the place and I’ll probably think twice before laying it on top of questionable grass and sand. Wore this to Venice Beach and it was all so quiet and perfect and warm that it stopped feeling real pretty quickly.
Some shots from my trip to Japan a couple weeks ago: shooting with Mercury Duo and ViVi, making the most out of my proximity to Topshop and Opening Ceremony, wandering around Shibuya with my mom, breaking in my Obakki zipper bag, testing as many different coffee drinks from 7-11 as possible, jewelry I picked up along Takeshita-Dori, cheesy grins with Osami Yabuta, the wall collage that ViVi made from my blog photos, Shibuya by night, and baggage claim to mark the end.
Going back to Tokyo is always so amazing it almost feels like a relief..every time I come home I feel a little empty for a few days as I transition back. Depressing huh. But I’m working on figuring it out to where I can spend a lot more time in Japan..I’ll keep you guys posted!
I was able to stop by to meet the beautiful sisters behind Dannijo in the Meatpacking District while in New York..after weaving through a block-wrapping line for the Apple store (I want one too but I think I can wait a few weeks..) and up a few flights of stairs it was through the door to a light-filled studio…the walls were lined with every kind of jewelry display setup possible dripping with chains and crystals and drawers showing off shield rings and cuffs. The sisters’ different aesthetics (Danni is the more bohemian counterpart to Jodie’s classic sensibilities) combine to create a really particular look to their pieces. My first look at the heavily twisted and embellished necklaces had me picturing them layered over an old tshirt or flimsy vintage dress but I can just as easily see them working with clothing that’s actually supposed to be beautiful. My picks from their site (sorry I didn’t get photos of all of them!) – the Hendrick and Caleb necklaces, Jacinda and Cheyenne rings, and the Sparo cuff. Mostly cause I can picture wearing them anywhere with anything. Which is actually the qualifier for everything I add to my closet..no matter how beautiful it is or isn’t.
