I’ve had this obsession with wearing rompers folded over as shorts this summer…the first time I did this I think I was scrambling to get dressed to answer the door and my AA triblend version was the closest available option. Really comfortable, although this one definitely requires a belt to stay up..learned this the hard way while hiking around Mission Trails Park and ended up improvising after the tenth time they almost fell off entirely by tying the straps in a way I’m pretty sure I couldn’t replicate. Yeah next time..belt.

A few recent purchases: dress and boots from the Barney’s Co-op sale in Philadelphia, feathered necklace from Forever 21, and a fistful of vintage rings from the LA flea market. The boots have snaps that go all the way up but I prefer them floppily folded over. Unfortunately this requires wearing my nerdiest shortest “socks”.
I’m in this very specific mood that has me wanting to drive out to the desert..hopefully this weekend.
Heading to Urth for iced matcha lattes..hands down my favorite drink this summer. I was all bundled up in tights/cardigan/vest but was dying from heat and changed into some basics I had in my car. Thank God for my backseat turned second closet. I picked up these shorts on sale at Opening Ceremony in Tokyo..no one told me how massive their store is over there! 7 levels worth of fun. It was a short walk from my hotel so I spent a lot of time fondling..everything.

A few shots from LA this weekend…spent the last couple days moving and trying to divvy up my things so I can get dressed fully at our place in San Diego and up here. This would be painstaking but in a way I find a limited wardrobe more inspiring…same way I enjoy getting dressed out of a suitcase. I’m currently on a flight to Philadelphia sprawled across the slumbering boyfriend and wishing there were more food options on board than a fruit and cheese plate..we’re flying out to work with Free People and he’s going to shoot me for part of the October catalog. Free People always has such beautifully ethereal locations and styling, not to mention the best wispy dresses and boots, and I can’t wait to see what they have planned.
Summer is all about easy pieces like these..this is a pretty common ‘type’ for a maxi dress but I love the double straps that give way to braided leather at the neck and the fact that it’s completely ruffle-less. Thank you Haruka and Yuka! Also wearing this dissected watch band that I picked up shopping along Takeshita-dori in Harajuku as a necklace.
Wore this for my first outing back at home in San Diego to go get ceviche and Mexican fruit salad..soo good. Tomorrow I pick up the keys for my new place in LA, can’t wait…
Happy 4th of July to my US readers..hopefully it isn’t as cold where you are as it is here tonight.
