Catching some sun on a Tuesday afternoon in the fruits of a little shopping I did in Vancouver (Aritzia=wonderland)..I’ve been inadvertently adding all these nudes and pinks to my wardrobe, mostly in silhouettes that are about ten times the size of my body. Somewhere in my brain this makes sense.

Memorial Day was strangely uneventful..most of the time around here the fine holiday turns into an excuse for widespread excess alcohol consumption but things stayed pretty calm around the beach and there were only a couple woohoos per hour. This is fine by me for the purpose of maintaining a sense of personal space but if the 4th of July follows suit I’ll be slightly concerned.

San Onofre State beach..a drive up from the city (I use this term loosely), embedded in a yawning expanse of Marine territory, and at the bottom of a long winding dirt road (thank God for Jeeps)..but so worth it once you’re there.

Still breaking in the shoes I first wore here but bikini and flip flops ensued.

Not warm enough for the beach yet..but warm enough for bike rides and flimsy tunic dresses..the ultimate in no brainer dressing. I was set on finding light gray nail polish this week and ended up with Essie’s Great Expectations..I really wanted more of a cement but it’ll do for now.

Which Chanel beauty products are you using? I love Teint Innocence, a light sheer coverage liquid. I also have the Double Perfection Compact but don’t use it as much.

Where can I get the Dolce & Gabbana wedges? Mine came from luisaviaroma.com..they’re sold out there now and I don’t know where else they’re available, sorry!

Do you go for cheapy own-brand batteries or energizer? Juice with bits, or without? Energizer re-chargeables and Trader Joe’s fresh squeezed (so with bits).

Have u ever worn sweats, jeans, or flat shoes your whole life? Even at home?? Of course! From some of the comments that I get..I’m way more normal than you think I am. I wear jeans a lot but sometimes feel like it’s hard to wear them in a different way every time.

I was just wondering where your roots are from? Because you have that asian look. I’m half Japanese and half white (Dutch and Scottish if you go way back). My mother was born and raised in Tokyo and I lived there for a few years when I was little.

I’m just wondering – did your friend fit in the ice machine? We forgot to check! So lame.

I used to not go anywhere without a low slung belt..now really wondering why I stopped wearing a style that lets you adjust and hoist up any hemline so easily. Not that this dress needed any hoisting but sometimes I can’t help myself. I got this belt in San Francisco last winter during an overly anticipated Zara trip (always get amped to enter that store since the closest one to me is a couple hours away) and never expected to get so much use out of it..might be on the lookout now for a chain belt while thrifting now. The love for the longish knits continues..I had and lost this exact cardigan and had the extreme fortune of finding it secondhand for what can only be described as dirt cheap.

Picked up a laptop case (finally), a leopard print sweater, OPI’s matte Russian Navy, and a weird amount of pieces at Bebe this weekend. Worrisome I know. I’m really more excited about iEmoji and shooting with No magazine in New Zealand later in the month. For now hoping to fill the rest of the long weekend with sand, Peruvian food and attaining some level or organization around here before it’s too late.
