Random! I’m far up and sort of deeper in California than usual, in Lodi for a vineyard type wedding. Here I am blending into some weeds the way I do sometimes. And a shot I took of just the weeds for good measure. I love that dry brush/hot air/open space smell..triggers so many memories of idly deciding what to do with long summer days.

Not only the draped fit of a monk’s robe but even the cord belt. Weird but it works. Acne was so good this season with the monochromatic layering and leather hats, but the silk dresses and low boots stood out to me the most. I love pieces like this that don’t require much of anything to look right, simple brainless dressing. I might try wearing it unbelted next for an even more smock-y look.
I’m here in Palm Desert trying to organize my stuff in the hotel and get ready for the first day of Coachella tomorrow. 93 degrees tomorrow apparently, I actually thought it was going to be so much worse..yay!
Getting all enchanted forest doesn’t have to be part of blogging I suppose but sometimes it just seems right? Even though I know it’s wrong. I’ll blame the weather skipping forward to summer about in a very immediate way a few days ago. CONTINUE READING

Got this big ol’ whipstitched belt from Zara in San Francisco last month and saw fit to cinch it over some basic leather shorts (I put these on a wishlist forever ago and was pretty surprised to see them online after all this time..glad they eventually made it out there though). The jacket was a gift from a brand I worked with in Tokyo called Egoist – so glad to be introduced to their stuff, all big sloppy sweaters and tweaked basics and shaggy things. We took these shots in Sonoma on a freezing sunless day..which I thought was intense. Starting to get really nervous about the weather in New York, I can’t believe fashion week is so soon…
Unearthen’s prism ring and Pamela Love’s mood ring, huge fluffy coats, my decaying childhood treehouse, ponytails, a rainbow splattered sidewalk, tie waist knit shorts from Tokyo, Hard Candy eyeliner, my favorite place for fruit and coconut water in San Diego, a couple better shots of my Alexander Wang chenille sweater, and Willy Wonka shades.
