At beautiful Jaffa Beach in Tel Aviv. This top is by Maria Berman, whose studio I stopped by during my stay. Her designs are simple and to the point but done in sort of extreme or at least unexpected materials. You see it here in how stiff the fabric is instead of your usual flimsy floaty sheer thing.

Here’s Maria trying on one of my favorite pieces I saw, a silver trench made of ultra-light and ultra-strong Tyvek (on top of the same shirt I’m wearing). Normally reserved for things like envelopes and um archery target faces, I love the idea of it as a super crinkly layer of clothing that happens to be waterproof too.
