Well it was definitely a late arrival to Milan fashion week, but today was nonstop nonetheless. Started off with cappuccinos and pain au chocolat at the hotel, then a fitting for the Versus show where I got my pick from the SS11 clashy floral/plaid collection (this is where it starts to become surreal), then off to meet up with Bryan at the Dolce & Gabbana show, then back to the hotel to change into my outfit for the Versus show at 5. And somewhere in there they had managed to take in the dress so that it fit me like a glove. The show was a complete new direction, all black leather and sheaths and mesh and toughness and rubber soled glitter platforms that I documented for future posting at the showroom. Such an honor to get to meet Christopher Kane and Donatella Versace herself backstage, I think I mashed my words together into complete incoherency when I was supposed to be articulating at least a standard greeting to them. Ah well. Thank you to everyone at Versace that I met today!

Wednesday night with Magnus Berger’s Last Magazine at Indochine and Dominion..I had a lot of fun hanging out with my bff Bryanboy, my friends at Kanon, Sonny Vandevelde, Amanda Norgaard, and the beautiful Prabal Gurung…I wore the drapiest sheer dress I own, some very walkable suede boots I got at Topshop in Soho earlier that day, and this necklace I designed with Dannijo that I’ve been wearing nonstop lately. Check out the rest of the photos we took at Kanon’s blog here.
PS since there are a few makeup questions, I’m wearing MAC fluidline eyeliner, Urban Decay Afterglow Cheek Tint in Indecent (obsessed with these, UD gave me a bunch and I love all of them…Fetish and Score are my favorites), La Mer The Powder, Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Nude Lustre, and Bobbi Brown eyeshadow from a random palette I forgot I had.
(Rag & Bone cardigan, vintage slip, Elizabeth and James knuckle ring, Plush socks)
(Rag & Bone hat, vintage silk shirt, Topshop leather shorts)
I’m sure you’ve all heard about Rag & Bone’s spring campaign but just in case you haven’t – David Neville and Marcus Wainwright had the genius idea to enlist Abbey Lee, Sasha Pivovarova, Edita, and Lily Aldridge to shoot the clothes however they wanted and they then posted the results guerrilla style all over New York. I love the fresh angle they took and the results are alive and random and all sorts of other good things (see for yourself here). They sent me a few pieces to style my own way for their online DIY gallery and Colin and I shot them around our place on a lazy warm day last month. The fuzzy Fair Isle cardigan was paired with my favorite almost head-sized mug on the kitchen counter and the hat with an old vintage shirt and a lit up sky. Hope you like.
The Pamela Love presentation at Milk was one of many highlights of fashion week for me, all uneven jagged crytals and pentacles and mixed metals. The best description I can come up with for the feeling of the collection as a whole is talismans fit for an ancient intergalactic war. Going to be dreaming about the gold cuffs, the simple cutout ring, and the earrings until they show up on Bona Drag..
