everything comes back to you in a different form

(Jas MB covered stud clutch)

I'd never heard of the label Jas MB before but I knew this was the oversized clutch I've been subconsciously dreaming about the second I laid eyes on it at Barney's Co-op. Studs have done more then their fair share of the blog rounds (well, and real life too I suppose) spurring declarations of being so over them..for me it's more about the specific piece and how you wear it rather than writing off entire categories of styles and silhouettes. Which is actually the way I approach thrift stores too...a completely open mind is the only path to finding anything good.

Probably after people have a little but of time to detoxify from the stud craze they will warm to them again, though in more subtle ways.

Really enjoying your title for the post...makes me feel all zen inside. I feel like studs have blown up so much that it's hard to consider it high fashion anymore...however, I think when a garment or accesory is subtlety studded, it ends up making more of a statement. This clutch does not seem over the top or flamboyant at all, which I like ;)

I just wanted to tell you that I think you've got an amazing style! You always look so fashionable and fab! Love your style! And your Dolce and Gabbana wedges, OMG!

I agree about the studs, it depends on the specific item! This bag is amazing!

MizzJ said...

Wise words Rumi! The word trend is something to avoid I think if you want to be truly stylish. Just wear what you like and what feels good to you, and don't stop wearing it just b/c someone else declares it "over".

this truly IS the *perfect* clutch!

Such an elegant way of putting it! I agree. If throw away and disregard things after they have been done, you will be left with very little, and probably you will have managed to throw out stuff you grew closest to. If you find studded things that you love, I say keep them.

Mother of Style said...

That clutch looks perfect- I love the wrinkles where it sags against the ground- looks like it's really soft.

I agree about studs, too- for example, a belt with rows of the pyramid shaped studs id totally classic rock'n'roll. That will never go out of style!

Love the sunglasses in your other post too, must be nice to just slip on some sunnies and see eh!? no contacts needed. Jealous.

You're so right! I also think that the covered studs is quite an interesting concept... I'm not a huge fan of studs, but I adore this piece simply because it approaches the trend in a completely new way.

Yes, trends do tend to become over-work and overkill.
The eat way is elegant under-stated chic - a studded clutch or shoes. Never go head to toe!

Anyway, what a find! The clutch is a beauty.
