ambushed on a road stole your gold you're a rose and you're laughing now

(vintage cardigan and sheer shirt, secondhand skirt, no3danyc velvet and metal belt, Forever 21 knit headband and tights, Dolce & Gabbana wedges, Commes des Garcons wallet, Bleachblack nail polish in Dickweed)

Well yeah, I need to find something new to put on my head. I'm working on it. And I'm pretty sure that these are going to be my favorite shoes for the next ten years. But none of that matters because I am wearing the craziest cardigan I have ever known to exist, let alone actually own. Grandpa buttons, curly shoulders, and leopard print have obviously been longing to be together since the inception of..cardigans. I go back and forth between favoring thinking that it belonged to the coolest old dude/pimp in the 70s and..the 70s version of myself. Who was in all likelihood way cooler than I could ever be so let's just go with the former. Though she would maybe maybe be proud of all of these vintage-only outfits I keep putting on by accident. Carrying around just a wallet is the final step in the slow and steady minisculization (know it's not a word) of my bags.

So essentially I am now too lazy to both shop at normal stores and carry anything weighing more than 12 ounces. Perfect. But FRIDAY yay. Going to have a mini hotel room party and see Gossip play at the W San Diego tonight.

Perhaps you could help me minisculise my bag collection- or at least the size of the damn things. Have been carrying sacks since high school (I'm 25!) and invariably fill them with crap.

Craziest cardi I have ever seen with my own two peepers, but you make it work by keeping everything simple. Torn stonewashed jeans is also an alternative me thinks. All in all a great outfit.

If I owned those shoes they would never leave my feet! I love that sheer shirt, but clearly the cardi steals the show!

I'm not a handbag kind of girl so I say great idea on the downsizing... I'm more about splurging on shoes, but hey if you can afford both kudos to you.

Your blog is slowly diminishing my strong resistance of leopard for reasons unknown. Nothing personal, just the kind of thing you hate on yourself but love on everybody else.

And the shoes... All I can say is Colin did pretty damn good for himself.

Those wedges are so gorge! So I see why they are going to be your fav . . . and the fact that the awesome b/f bought them is cool too. Question. Are there going to be anymore additions to the treasure chest anytime soon? -le sigh- vintage store in the south consist of Target, Walmart, and everything that's not cool in rotation. =(

I've been wondering if the latest leopard wave had gone outside the UK yet! Most people in the states were saying it's over, but here in London, I've never seen such creative use of the print.

Yours is a beautiful look with it, Rumi. I agree, that is one mad cardie. It all works: the silhouette of those shoes, black tights, tiny black skirt, then the flash of the gold belt, and that big white shirt hanging out. And that's just the right blue nail varnish. Top marks. If only you'd smile once in a while..

Really? Black tights, black shoe-bootie yet AGAIN? How unimaginative can u be? Sure u can pair off just about anything with black tights and a black shoe/boot, but that's safe, insanely easy and requires no thinking skills. Nothing you've shown when u started to "blow up" is really all that innovative. Your style used to have depth and even a bit of whimsy but now that you're cowtowing to the masses, you're going a bit too Mary-Kate with your look (and not even that well, i might add) and suffering your distinction in the process. If I was looking for boring-as-fuck, I would say well done, Rumi, well done.
