(secondhand oversized sweater, D*luxe dreamcatcher necklace, Deadly Ponies Precious bone bud bracelet, vintage shorts, Topshop boots)

I've always wanted a chair like this. Except mine would be strung from the ceiling. And lucite. I remember reading that Kelly Osbourne collected them or something, which made me very jealous.

Colin and I are working on a..hmm...extracurricular blog project and we need a bunch of questions from you guys to work into it. The answers won't be posted on here but they will be answered in a way that you will see them of course. Ask away!

PS I'll take the first ten tweeted to me.

Rad chair, we used to have a similar shaped wicker one hung from the ceiling at our old beach house.

It was great to meet yourself and Colin at ANZFW, I hope you had a nice time and a safe trip home, you'll have to come visit again some time.

You always say that you're awkward. Why do you think this about yourself?

What were you like growing up? Were you always one of the "popular" kids? I'm especially curious because you mention living in different places as you were growing up.

What drives you? What makes you tick?

Where does your quiet, yet strong sense of confidence come from? (Before the success of this blog. It's something I really admire.)

How do you handle stares and attention in public? I'm specifically remembering a post way back about your silver shorts and getting comments from old men in Trader Joe's.

How did you find such an awesome boyfriend? You two seem to work so well together and seem to share a similar drive, in that you have both taken your hobbies to a professional level. Was this something you saw in him early on?

Excuse me for being a question hog. I've been following your blog since you started and have always wondered about these things.

Oooh...questions.

What does this extra curricular blog entail?

Are you and Colin going to start blogging about food? Seriously, a couple years ago, the title alone made me think you were going to blog about toast. I was intrigued. There's not a whole lot of variations of toast out there. :P

Who are your favorite photographers of all time?

What is your earliest fashion moment?

Being from Cali, what are both of your favorite spots? This necessarily doesn't have to be about fashion.

What are your other passions besides fashion and photography?

Do I need to start a well known blog to get free clothes and shoes? Damn girl. I wish I had your hook up.

What kind of music or artists fuel your inspiration for fashion?

And lastly...

Can Colin photograph you in a Snuggie? Or vice versa. That would be the sh*t. Hey, at least I didn't ask you the Team Edward or Team Jacob question.

:)

The best chairs of that style were madein the early '70's. You sat down, deep inside, and plugged the chair into your stereo! There were about 4 to 6 speakers built into the thing. So, it was like a reverse headphone! Instead of sticking your ears into 'phones; you stuck yourself into a giant ball of psychedelic sound!

Loud! With maybe a little herbs from the garden and a bottle of Red ........

Okay I have a few questions just off the top of my head. Hopefully you can use some of them.

1. Did you ever expect your blogging success to be this grandiose?

2. What origin is your name and what does it mean?

3.How has your personal style changed since you were a teenager/ how has it stayed the same?

4.Can you cook? If so what is your specialty? Can Colin cook? If so what is his specialty?

5.Do you have any talents outside of the fashion spectrum that people would be surprised to know about?

6.Are you interested in photography as well or is that strictly Colin's forte?

7. What is your zodiac sign? What is Colin's?

8. Do you have an outfit from your past that you look back on and think "Why the hell did I wear that?"

9. Do you find the same inspiration dressing other people as you do w/ yourself?

10. Does Colin ask you for fashion tips? (lol)

Okay that is all lol

Oooh, questions! At first, I didn't want to ask anything because I feel like it's almost intruding (even though you invited them), but now, I feel like you could really give some insight and suggestions...

New York City - what are you favorite restaurants, late-night hangouts and tourist must-sees?

How did you and Colin meet? It seems like I actually "know" you guys from the blog and all the features, but in reality, it's only a part of the real you.

Love the effect you guys are using in these pictures. But I gotta say, I'm more about that white couch behind you than the red chair... so hideously awesome! :)

Revista Estilhaço said...

Dear Rumi,

We are students of Journalism of the Portuguese Catholic University in Braga, Portugal. We are currently attending our final year and we are going to publish an alternative magazine entitled “Estilhaço” (= splinter), with a culture-forward editorial line.

Thus, context-areas such as the world of fashion, writing, fiction, media and the arts in a broader sense are the object of our endeavors. We want to make it as broad-minded as possible and, to that extent, we would appreciate if you would allow us an interview for our fashion section. This could be made via email and, ultimately, we would send you an example issue for your approval and subsequent publication.

It is a gratuitous magazine and it will be distributed in the main metropolitan areas, namely Braga, Porto and Lisbon.
