i've been waiting on you for a long time

(Forever 21, La Dama, and vintage necklaces, Donna Karan cashmere cardigan, vintage slipdress and belt, UO tights, Aldo platform sandals, Genevieve Jones fringe clutch)

By one of my favorite cafés, Alta in Newport Beach, after doing some shopping for the eBay store. Aside from having a rustic cabin feel, there's a book borrowing shelf and a place for frequent patrons to leave their mugs...and yeah some of the best coffee ever. We tried to get some photos of the inside but it was way too dark already...there was actually barely enough light to take these afterwards before retreating back south for some gym time, cooking up a massive artichoke, and trying to decide what to make of the British version of The Office. Really not looking forward to daylight savings on Sunday..why can't California go the way of Arizona and Hawaii and refuse to partake?

Thank you to Donna Karan and Genevieve Jones for these beautiful pieces. The cashmere cardigan is easily one of the most luxurious things in my wardrobe and I love its perfect charcoal gray. Worn with some old favorites, my perhaps most comfortable heels ever and this crazy bullet belt. I think autumn has finally made it here.

Great look! It's nice to see something simple on you once in awhile. :)

I think the British (and the original) "the Office" is great! I mean, no one beats Ricky Gervais' weird humor, the guy is actually like that in real life too! If you like it, you should check out the Extras, it's funny as hell!

Those are bullets on your belt?? I was going to say I love it because it kind of reminds me of a Rolex! :)

Jacquie said...

the Original version of the office is so brilliant and british... that's why they made an american version as our humour is so different! i personally hate the american one - a pale imitation :s

i, however, do love the outfit and i like the ways the photos have that grainy feel to them. the fringe clutch is gorgeous! this blog gets better and better :)

The British Office is a brilliant study in black humour - the American version has lost all the subtlety of the original. It's as though Americans are afraid of creating genuinely unsympathetic characters. Everything is TV-ugly, or TV-evil - there is never an honest portrayal of reality. I'm Australian, so also not biased because we have a fairly even mixture of Americana/Brittania over here. The same thing happened to the American adpation of the Australia series "Kath and Kim". The original is comedy gold - the American version was so bad that it actually caused me physical pain!

Dude you look so good in the past few posts... and Colin's photography is like on a whole other level.

the low light + level of noise looks soo good in the last few photos. I always have trouble setting my own ISO in low light and making it look that good.

This outfit is almost perfect... I would have worn the Dolce platforms from the last post but only bc I have a hate-hate relationship with Aldo. Everytime I wear their shoes I end up with serious foot wounds.
