(Topshop dress, vintage necklace, Alexander Wang bag, Oasis boots)

Never got around to posting these from right before I got my hair cut...I'll admit it's healthier now but I'm doing everything in my power to get it to grow back faster. I'm open to tips!

This is one of the lovely pieces that Topshop sent me that I decided to cut up to create my own slouchy version of the Sophomore dress I've been eyeing for months now. Couldn't be breezier. Literally.

That's an awesome necklace. It looks like the antique Bedouin jewelry I plan to steal from my mom the second she lets her guard down.

Hey Rumi! I love that Alexander Wang bra. :) I haven't got any tips on hair growing. I recently cut mine, too, thanks to damaged ends. I'd love to hear some "make it grow" tips as well. Anyone? Anyone?

whitneyhollington said...

the dress it quite genius. very much loving it for summer. it definitely is "breezy" hehe :]] stunning. and about the hair, i'm going through an awkward stage trying to grow out my bands. maybe try like some of the garnier fructis or tresemme, or like vitamins. idk. thats my mad method. good luck sweetie.

Love what you did to the dress!

Unfortunately there really isn't anything you can do to make hair grow faster, it would be better not to waste your money on 'magic' potions and such. Just give it a bit of time and I'm sure you'll get used to it, and no matter what healthy hair always looks better than keeping hair long just for the sake of length.

The Hungry Fashionista said...

Really sexy in a not-trying-to-be-sexy way! For faster hair growth, try massaging scalp w/ argan oil. It's amazing. You can also try taking fish oil pills, Biotin, or any type of fatty acid.

A tip for getting your hair to grow longer...only wash your hair twice a week. I know it sounds a bit scroungy, but it really does work.

great look! Do people that see you ever harass you because you dress so sexy? I just don't have the courage to dress as trashy(meant in a fun and cool sense) as you do, but I'd like to! =]

I loove this outfit! the dress awesome - so easy and relaxed.

Planetalf said...

my hair grows faster if I don't have split ends...so since you just got a trim..make sure you have a lightweight conditioner (garnier fructis has an awesome sleek & shine lightweight formula). I condition everytime I wash my hair, which is everyday.

Once I quit bleaching it and cut back on the products, my hair is super shiney and it grows waaaaaaay too fast, I think.

gorgeous shoes btw

La Carmina said...

Never fear - hair grows faster in the summer! It's not due to sunlight exposure, but faster cell division due to the need for more efficient blood circulation (ie, sweating)...

no one cares that topshop sent you that ugly dress

Sarah said...

You need to get Phyto Phytophanere hair and nail supplements their available at sephora, ulta, bath and body works, its a french brand. I totally swear by them their kind of pricy at $50 but its a 2 month treatment in one bottle, it makes your hair grown at least an inch more on top of what it normally takes you to grown hair in a month and makes your hair shiny. Also take Biotin 5,000 mcg and you'll have longer hair in no time.

olivia said...

i'm not sure if this is at all true, but my cousin (who has very long and very healthy hair, despite straightening it and whatnot everyday) wears her hair up in a bun on top of her head. supposedly, it grabs hair from the roots and pulls it. again, i'm skeptical, but it's worth a shot right?

btw - OBSESSED with your clothes. very very obsessed.

Elizabeth Victoria C said...

I just love this!! The customized dress is amazing paired with the alex wang bra. As for hair growing, I don't know if it works but I use a leave in conditioner called "its a ten" and it seems to be the miracle solution for me.

Joanna said...

massage your scalp when you wash your hair. it increases blood circulation so that your hair follicles receive nutriest quicker = faster hair growth.

accidentally cut too mnay inches off my hair and i did this everyday and it def helped my hair grow back :)

Morning Glory said...

I agree with Vivi, hair looks better when its soft and healthy. You shouldn't hang on to ragged chewed off end, just for the sake of length. Your hair looks waaaaay better. And I agree with the prenatal vitamins advice, just be careful with Biotin. It has the tendency to cause breakouts. Good Luck!!

the lady said...

i really like that elizabeth and james ring....i've seen street vendors here in SF try to recreate that ring, but i can' get any of them because they're just not as cute as this one! but i mean i guess that's what you get for a ring that's like, ten times cheaper haha

I've been taking Biotin to make my hair grow, but it hasn't made much difference - probably because I keep forgetting to take it! Scalp massage is supposed to encourage healthy growth but the only thing that worked for me was not getting it cut for 4 months and just being really careful, no blow drying, lots of Kerastase treatments...ahhh, I just saw someone says Biotin can cause breakouts - yep thank you, you just solved a mystery.

ok. well most girls are right about the hair advice. I had mine cut in august last year. it was a very traumatic event since my hair was a bit longer than yours and it now reached my shoulders. I took a hair and nails vitamin that I found in whole foods. I wash my hair with the horse shampoo that Tavi mentioned, in most Rite Aids or CVS's, and I also massage hair with olive oil once a week before I wash it. this opens up your follicles. Anyways if you want specifics I can give you brands of everything but I know how hard it is to accept that its better because its healthy yet the length is not what you want

Anonymous said...

honey, there is not much you can do to accelerate hair growth. yes, vitamin b sometimes helps... but just make sure you get good sleep, stop frying your hair via dying it, and massage your scalp before you go to bed. it stimulates the hair follicles. otherwise, stop fixating so much on its length. most of us can barely tell its been cut.

Love the Wang bag! You look fab in this dress, but I could never pull it off. Good luck with growing your hair out. Don't you wish leg hair grew just as slowly as the hair on your head? I do! And as far as getting your hair trimmed to make it grow faster, since your hair grows from the root, trims only make the hair appear healthy.. not grow. Just my two cents, but interesting to learn what works for other people!

Yes, my skin is softer and brighter but my hair!!! Oh my!!! It grew like 8 cm and it looks shiny and silky. You could try it, its a very safe and natural treatment. Good luck! love your blog!

Product won't make your hair grow. Vitamins will help. Apparently sea kelp is good, but it does horrible things for the skin so I won't take it.

I take silica. I used to take a higher dosage when I needed to grow my hair out QUICKLY (warning, the first three-four days you will have terrible spots on high dose silica, and then they will go away and your skin will be great), and it would grow about 2 inches a month, seriously. Now my hair is almost waist length, I take a lower dosage just to keep my skin, hair and nails perfect. The hair grows about an inch a month. Believe me, it works. The downside is that it also makes all other hair grow so prepare to wax/tweeze more often than normal.

About the hair..

This serum saves my hair from split ends, so I don't have to cut it:

Mane n Tail shampoo and condish......Hask Placenta conditioner - sounds gross but it's a charm! I cut my hair into the "posh" when it was popular two years ago and I immediately wanted my halfway down my back length hair back. It was up to my chin and even shorter in the back and here I am 2 years later with it almost covering my boobs again. And you only need a few inches!! Also, eat more protein, it makes your hair and nails grow faster and stay strong and thick! good luck!

biotin works, but only if you look after you hair at the same time. i took biotin, vit B plus and fish oils for two years (and expensive ones) and my hair didn't grow but the condition was better. however, this year i have been trimming my split ends nearly every day, doing olive oil wraps a few times a week and crucially leaving my hair down! i think it must have been m,e scrunching my hair up into a bobble that fucked it. try it out xx

Dude. Chill out with the whole hair cut thing. It grows back, and your hair is still long.
About the fashion -- love what you did with the dress. As usual, you styled it perfectly.

The best hair growing tips I know:

Keep your hair mosturized
Have a well balanced diet
Take your multivitamins
Exercise to help increase bloodflow
Dont touch your hair too often
Only trim when you see split ends
Limit heat (drect and indirect heat)
If you must take some growth aides such as Biotin and such

Good luck :) Im in the process of growing out my shoulder length hair as well

if you have wella in america, you should buy the wella system professionals repair shampoo, hydro mask and most importantly ends express (if used everyday prevents split ends and reapirs the ends of the hair) we call it haircut in a bottle. hope you can find it! i used these 3 products to get me through going black to blonde without having to cut it.

the photos look amazing, you look gorgeous as always.

Tip for gorwing hair and nails: Take Biotin, you should be able to buy it at any healthfood or supplements store. I take the 300 mcg tablets, i found that when I took two a day it worked best.

CHEERS!

Use FAST shampoo, sold at Boots. It really makes a difference. It's a little pricey but so worth it. It stands for fortified amino scalp therapy .. its for about $40 for the shampoo and conditioner .. does miracles!

i think you look really trashy. what happened to your previous, more beautiful, classy and elaborate outfits? this one just makes you look like a hooker, like your clothes can't keep on your body. stop showing so much skin.
