if you seek a...

(random leopard print dress, vintage faux fur coat, Alexander Wang backpack..similar here, Forever 21 fringe boots and chain necklace)

A lot of times people will email me about shopping and trends and what I like and why..truth be told, outside of the clarity of buying on the internet, I rarely go shopping with a specific idea of what I want, instead just grabbing whatever appeals in an alarmingly animalistic, instinct-driven way. What I'm trying to say is that in no way was I seeking a leopard print cotton slipdress but I knew I loved it immediately upon sight. It's been a while, spaghetti strap..

I think that's how shopping should be! Unpredictive and fun! Not boring and carefully planned.

Who really goes shopping with something in mind? I don't think I've ever done that. I shop and buy whatever I like and that works best for me.

Lily said...

I am madly in love with the fur coat! Found a similar one in a tiny little vintage store when I was over in New York last week alas my obstinate friend
refused to let me buy it and insisted i'd look like roadkill, looking at yours i'm regretting not buying it! I'll be in london nxt wk
tho so hopefully I'll get the chance to pop down to The Portobello Market to scour for one!

you look so freakisly pretty in photo #1. backlighting is so win.

i have no idea how you manage to walk on squishy looking surfaces in heels. i'm pretty sure i'd find myself ankle-deep in mud and quite unable to move. i think you might have magical powers or something.

Midori said...

oh and just noticed that in photo #1 it looks like you're staring at the AA ad in your sidebar, which is currently a closeup of a gold lame-clad rear end. AWESOME.

Carolyn said...

that's exactly how i shop! it can be dangerous.. but way more fun. :-)

those boots!! what a great F21 find

The Queen of Hearts said...

This photo shoot reminds me a lot of what you'd see in Urban Outfitters catalogs (sans the styling).
The look is a little predictable with the sort of "under garment-esque" dress, and "fur" coat overlay. Its a throwback to when downtown kids started dressing like prostitutes, peek-a-boo sexy...I really like the style of the ankle boots and am surprised that they are Forever 21. When you put it together properly, you make cheap clothes work for you.

I Like Stuff said...

I'm happy to say that I assumed the Alexander Wang doppelgangers on your feet were the real deal until I read your outfit information. They look much better in person than on the website!

Now, the real question: are they comfortable??

Wanderlusting said...

I think my fashion sense is half and half. Half planned, half grabbed. Though maybe it is more realistic to say that I plan to buy certain things then end up impulsively buying others?

Love these photos, the light is brilliant. Come on Summer!!!
