Sock dreams

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Since their incorporation into my vast-ish shoe collection, I've been dreaming about pairing these Velcro-rrific heels with dark gray socks, and after a stop by Target (my personal hosiery haven) I eagerly scrambled for the right dress to temper the weirdness. Which led me to this vintage dress that I delusionally imagine to be something Clemence Poesy would wear to..the supermarket..or something.

Dress and clutch, vintage. Sunglasses and headband, Forever21. Socks, Target. Heels, Aldo.

i saw those same sunglasses at F21 and so wanted to buy them! love them on you :)

I have those sunnies but I'm afraid to say that they look far better on you than on me. Pooh.

Anyhow, I am in love with those shoes due to the velcro. I'm so lazy with laces or anything of the sort that I'll resort to velcro, which is probably one of the greatest inventions to date for lazy people.

I'm so glad I'm not the only weirdo who is obsessed with the right sock! I'm really into how Chloe Sevigny wears gray socks peeking out of her ankle boots. Also: Eelskin is the new black.

Oh man, those sunglasses look just like the ones from Top Shop I wanted so badly last year! Did you buy them recently?

I used to think heart-shaped sunglasses were a bit too tacky for me to wear or pull off, but you've definitely proved me wrong!! Thanks for all the inspiration-you're a big help.

I tried those glasses, like, yesterday. I'm soo regretting I didn't buy them! I tried them from Topshop though. Still, they look identical! ...but I do have a pair in black, so I guess it's okay.

It looked like blogspot , very similar to Rumi's blog. Than when I closed Lulu's blog and I when opened it agian I saw this adress: /www.chictopia.com/user/blog/lulu and now it doesn't look like blogspot but like site chictopia.com.And now I can't see notes and so many photos as earlier? Always great!
I have a question, can u post pics of your faux/fauxes so I can se how they look more detail ? My lovely mom is going to make one for me, and I want one that looks like (http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/5853/dsc00390bl7.jpg) this one. But I can't really tell how it looks, but I like what I'm seeing, if you know what I mean. Hugs, J.

I love the dress and the shoes/socks combo, but I agree with the poster that said this look looks forced.

I'd get rid of the headband and sunglasses (don't know if it's the same over there, but in london every tweenybopper 14 year old is wearing headband/lolita sunglasses) -it's too myspace cliche. Plus they detract from the organic feel of the socks/dress/clutch. Less is sometimes more, Clemence Poesy wouldn't wear naff accessories.

Fabulous outfit. I have been stalking your blog for months now. You have incredible style and are amazingly gorgeous. ....not to sound creepy. haha

Your heart glasses are amazing by the way.

Hello all,

Thanks for the variety of comments, don't worry I stuck the sunglasses on for the photos in a "here's a fun purchase!" way, and didn't wear them out, I totally agree that it was over-accessorized but I sort of said that in the first place! I would definitely wear them with something simpler in the "real world" lol.

Emily ooh I remember that sart photo, how gorgeous is her smile? Sigh.

Ringo, I bought them a little over a week ago online, but they're sold out now! :(

Hahha Abisola yeah it's kind of wrinkly but that's just how the material is.

Anon 6:45...haaha you are too sweet..thanks.

Anon 6:54 yeah Lulu's sort of working on that problem!

YF well thank you for visiting! I pretty much shop everywhere as you can see..from Forever21 to thrift stores to..Balenciaga. I guess a signature me look would be vintage dress/statement heels/jewelry overdose? Hahha sorry I'm so bad at describing how I dress!

Jennifer..wait your mom is going to MAKE a bag? That sounds quite laborious! Wouldn't it be easier to just get one on ebay? Hahha your mom's a lot nicer than mine!

Anon 12:47 thanks for the constructive criticism, I really appreciate how you articulated that.

Ragamala, there are a bunch of florals in my store right now, you can check out how I styled them there! Or just look through the archives :)

Your fotos looks like its from fashion magazine. I agree with other that this whole look not for ordinary life. But it is great! you are very talented person. You should try work as a stylist. Few weeks ago I got a meeting with main editor of Russian Officiel. I understand that any person can work in fashion industry.

The glasses are so cute, I've been looking for a pair ever since watching Kubrick's Lolita :)

I've always loved how you pair socks with sandals and how you manage to look so amazing while doing it!
