A day at the park

I've been going through blogging withdrawals with all the frenzy that comes along with moving..we left early Saturday morning for the long drive through California with my car packed full of, well, mostly shoes. Luckily the boyfriend looks at packing with a certain robotic Tetris-like eye so most of my things were forced to fit one way or another. It turned out to be an insanely picturesque drive, with all the spring wildflowers in bloom and sporadic misty, stormy spots mixed in with the clearest sunshine. But enough of nature, we spent the weekend wandering about the city, visiting friends from college, and attempting to organize my room at my parent's house where I'm going to be staying until my boyfriend finds a job. Not excited about living back here, I can already imagine the dishwasher drama and all the article clippings my dad is going to give me to read, though I know I'm lucky to have my room still intact and available, ie not converted into a home gym.

T, Urban Outfitters. Jacket, Forever21. Skirt, vintage. Boots, Minnetonka. Bag, Balenciaga.

i have to move home next year, too, for fashion school for two years. its going to be weird and possibly a little dramatic, but im going to make the best of it because then im off to new york city! good luck!

I had to move home also as I waited impatiently for my condo to be built. One benefit is you can spend more money on shoes and travel! That beats paying rent. Good luck!

hey i totally understand on the moving home thing, i did that last year after being so fed up of living hand to mouth with no spare cash! and yes ive gotten far more clothes and travelled even more than i did in years (just back from amsterdam!) however im moving out again as im starting a new job with double pay! yay to independence!
All the best in your new career, you never know this time next year you could buying your own condo! :)
p.s i love your site, im a fashion toast addict!

Lol. Article clippings.
What kind of articles does your dad clip?

first off, of course i adore the outfit. very cool, yet very casual. secondly, are you ever going to let us in on this "dream job?" we've been waiting patiently for the info to be divulged! lastly, though buying shoes with all the extra cash you are saving living at home seems enticing, i am one for saving that money to move out!

I moved back home right after college. It's been a rough 8 months, but I'm happy to say that I am moving out in 2 weeks! New beginnings rock, though :)
I do have a question about your outfit: why the ripped tights? I noticed them in your last outdoor/nature-ish post, too.

I, personally, like the ripped tights. Why is it that they rip so fast? I swear, I went through 4 pairs in 2 months. But seeing as you are brave enough to sport them, I just might resurrect mine. =]

And I agree with Daniela, are you going to tell us about the job? I think most of us are on pins and needles waiting for you to spill! <3

I hate living at home but it's such a necessary evil. I mean my parents are great and some days are awesome. . . but others. . . oh good lord. . . anywho. .. happy to see I'm not the only one still rocking my Minnetonka's. I live in those boots.

Love your outfit! And I can't believe there is another article clipping dad out there. Even though we are in Atlanta and he is in D.C., we receive updates through the mail.

I live in SF too, so maybe i'll see you around the city, in your cool outfits :)

That looks like Dolores park where you're sitting...but I don't know, I'm really bad with places and names.

I wish I could move back up north :( My room was converted into an office... but my pictures and paint still rule the room!!! Hahaha. I was having RUMI withdrawals. Thank goodness you're back!

Hi everyone! Aww I'm touched that I was missed, it's scary how out of touch I felt in such a short period of time...talk about computer-dependent. Officially a geek.

Thanks for all the positive thinking/commiseration on living at home, definitely frees up some more money for extravagant and impulsive purchases! My favorite kind. Hopefully the bf will find a job pretty soon so we can move out, there are so many amazing neighborhoods in the city that I would LOVE to live in, I get excited just thinking about it.

Seraphine and Cajuns, SO MANY CLIPPINGS!!! Haha through the mail, love it. I mean I (sort of) know he's doing it in a kind thoughtful way, and just wants to share his fascinating technology and science magazines, but you'd think after never once mentioning their content he would ebb the article flow. But I suppose it's just one of those dad things like wearing corduroy blazers with elbow patches and actually appearing to like meatloaf. And I suppose in reality I would be sad if he suddenly stopped clipping.

In regards to the ripped tights, I'm honestly not trying to be all MK (though according to a certain Whowhatwear commenter, I am a walking Mary-Kate Olsen special lol), I just get runs in my tights like IMMEDIATELY upon donning them, maybe I surround myself unknowingly with sharp things, but I hate just throwing them out. Actually I should probably just stop buying them all at Forever21 and H&M and I'd have better luck.

Wow Curella, living near a castle!??! Talk about photo opportunities, I'm jealous! :)

Etoile, haaha I LOVE my Minnetonkas, I just ordered my third pair, the ankle boot "tramper" or whatever, after that I am on a moccasin boot ban for the next five years. Unless someone knocks off those Balmain heeled ones....yeah.

Jen, yup Dolores Park, SO gorgeous there! How cool you live in SF too :)

Aww Erika that sucks about the officication (ok not a word) of your room! I would definitely be bitter and whine obnoxiously about that one.

Wow so many questions about the J Brands! They run big, mine are a 24, ink wash.

I sort of want to keep this blog separate from my work so yeah...sorry!

Aw I love the in the park photos, totallyy cutee, also love the boots. A couple years ago when I was at Whistler I saw a girl wearing fringe boots, she must have been creeped out cause I was totally staring, but they were so cute! btw, its bothering me, whats sticking out of your bag lol? I understand too about not wanting to reveal on your job, you already share so much with us.
