Reader-inspired

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Thank you so much for all the kind words and congratulations! I'm going to answer all the questions in that post today, just want to make sure I address them well. One of you mentioned that headbands/scarves would be fun and it inspired me to dig up one of my favorite vintage silk scarves today. Kind of adds a more boho element to the leather skirt.

T, I forget..skirt, bracelets, and scarf, vintage. Sandals, Urban Outfitters from two years ago. Sunglasses, Forever21. Bag, Charlotte Russe.

love the leather skirt. You inspired me to purchase one. (Luckily that was before myself imposed shopping ban) This pic reminds me of a pic of Mary Kate olson in which she dressed her leather skirt down as well. Looks great!

i agree, the scarf transforms what would've otherwise seemed like a plainer outfit. i have those sandals, too! (finally. haha) funny how they're still in style.

after seeing your minnetonka booties i decided i had to have a pair. i got them in black but of course i can't wear them like you! any suggestions for how to work them? thank you times a million! (ps. your fashion pairings are angelic)

Nice colors!!!

did you decide not to sell the vintage leather skirt on your ebay site? or has it already sold and i was just confused on the date the auction ended?

Rumi said...

Thank you! Yeah I it is a little Olsenish isn't it, I loved their leather skirt outfits, especially when Ashley wore one with a navy blue hoodie and leopard print flats.

To the last question, I canceled it because in the auction I forgot to say that the snap was broken in the back, it stays up with just the zipper but didn't want to sell it without the buyer knowing and it was too late to revise. I have a similar skirt going up later today, hopefully the people that bid will see that one!

i really like this one! the tee & skirt are both great colors on you!! i love the metallic look of the skirt and the deep blue of the tee. the headscarf adds a grand bohemian quality to the overall creation of the effortless cool chic you so easily pull off!

i love your blog, i visit everyday! i just don't have the best wardrobe cause i'm so broke all the time, so i don't have my own blog

i always love your shoes too btw, especially those ones

Tea Lady said...

gosh those shoes look good on you! You totally have the legs to pull off the flat gladiators! I wrote recently of my love of the wedge gladiators (ninewest) - more flattering for me. Good on ya for pulling these off - they look great!

i remember searching high and low for those sandals. unfortunately, none of the urban stores had my size. you just reminded me how badly i wanted those. gotta search for something similar now. haha

This is a bit random, but I was always wondering, are you half Asian? Because you have really exotic features and I was always kind of curious. Also, do you work in the fashion industry?

Anonymous said...

you look sooo good!! i love your style and everything!!can you smile on the next pic??:P

Your blog is amazing. I've only started reading it recently but it's very inspiring.
You have such a great sense of style and I appreciate your blog more as I feel you are not preaching your fashion thoughts onto others but just giving your very well written opinions on fashion. It is a breath of fresh air and a whole lot less prententious than many other blogs I read. You also appreciate Ms Alexa Chung which is always good in my books! :) Congratualtions on the job opportunity, you deserve it and I recommend your blog highly to everyone!

Hope you dont mind me using some of your photos on my blog, i cant stop to admire your outfits!
You rock.

I love your blog, and I think you have a really great sense of innate style!! You always look stylish/funky without looking like you tried to hard, which in my opinion is the best way to go.

Also, this is kind of random, but I was wondering, how tall are you? You always look really tall in all of your pictures.

I'll look forward to reading more of your posts!!

Have you seen the new Balmain line on style.com. It looks like your style.

Also, it must be warm where you live....I would freeze my buns off wearing something like that in Feb. What do you do if you get cold?

Claire said...

balmain seemed so a.wang! also, i was the "clairedille" trying to get the skirt and was so bummed it went away...do you think i should go for the am.ap.fauxleather? i got the pants (or leggings) and wore them this weekend. it might be too warm for out west but you could totally rock them!

Babe!! Love your style aloot!! I never missed to read your blog.. Keep the funky/cool pics rolling in.. Curlyyat *winks winks*

Ugh, you pull the headband scarf off soo well. I tried. I look like an idiot. HAHA!

Anonymous said...

I loveee this but I don't think the headband suits you worn like that, it's way too tight. Or maybe tuck your bangs in? I dunno. Anyway <3 you

Thank you for all the amazing comments, they're what inspire me every day!

Now let's see..

Thanks Tee Lady, I love both the flat and wedge versions, and I agree it's funny how they're so "in" now when they've been around for years now. Nine West has a cute flat version too, live fabulously! I saw them on Zappos a couple weeks ago.

Anonymous, I'm 5'7", not really tall or short I guess, but I think with the right attitude anyone could pull them off! Look at all the Hollywood shorties :)

To the girl from Iceland, thank you! Glad you like my store!

I know Jen, it's crazy how far blogging can get you...haha I've had a few requests for the return of the toast, I'm thinking about it!

Anika, yeah I love blue and black together..

Saikat, I'm not quite sure I understand blogsjam, but I will email you!

To Anon 6:54, yup I'm half-Japanese, half white..I'm going to be working in fashion soon!

7:07 haha I'll try to smile...

7:40, that's so sweet, I definitely don't want to get preachy, and thanks for the congratulations!

Jonna, thanks and definitely feel free to use my photos!

Sarah thank you, haha wow two height questions in one post, I answered above but I'm 5'7". I always like to look tall though so that means a lot!

12:28 I LOVVVVVVVVVED Balmain, I was going to do a post on the collection sooooon. And yeah it was definitely like 80 degrees yesterday, I'm lucky to live where it's warm! I would probably suck at winter dressing.

Claire! Okay I messaged you on eBay but here's the auction # of the new one that's pretty much the exact same thing but actually with even softer leather - 220206777162 - in perfect condition!

Thanks for the headscarf encouragement, I haven't done this since last summer...yeah 9:44 I wasn't sure what to do with my bangs hahah.

I'll wait for your email...
I'd love to explain how blogsjam works.
